Addiction Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine Services

 

Dr. Aoun offers treatment for Substance Use Disorders (SUDs) and Maladaptive or otherwise excessive use of drugs or alcohol. Treatment consists of a combination of:

• Medications for the Treatment of Addictions (MAT), including Buprenorphine (Suboxone/Subutex), long acting injectable naltrexone (Vivitrol)

• Psychotherapy using Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) based on the Marlatt Relapse Prevention Model

• Managing underlying and co-occurring psychiatric conditions

• GHB

• Hallucinogens (LSD/acid, psilocybin/mushrooms)
